The Gastrodome Event Caterers are members of the South Hams Food & Drink Association – the organisation dedicated to the promotion of the fabulous food produced in this area of South Devon. We are also dedicated to using the great local produce whenever we can. Much of what we cook and serve comes directly from the farmer-producer. This enables us to
provide top quality catering at prices little higher than those of our competitors. For example, we are currently using rare breed “White Park” beef from Graham & Louise Lethbridge at Holesome Park, East Allington. The 100% beefburgers are made here, too. The beef is naturally very dense & tasty but is hung properly- for around 3 weeks to ensure even more flavour & tenderness. It is fantastic cooked on The Gastroroast!
Venison products come from game dealers and producers Lesley and Richard Goodman -Gara Barton-. You will find them at several farmers markets. Whole Hogs and Porchetta whole pork loins come either from Holsome Park (also in farmers markets), or our excellent Kingsbridge butchers - Lidstones. Lidstones and Holsome Park also supply our naturally reared South Hams lamb. We normally use Lidstones local award-winning pork sausages, which come plain or with different seasonings e.g pork & garlic, Cumberland, etc. The very tasty South African gluten-free beef Sausages are made from Devon beef by Ron Campbell in Paignton. We get locally grown salad, vegetables and herbs,in season from Wilton Farm, Southpool. Lobster & crab comes from Excel Shellfish in Kingsbridge.
We are delighted to now have a source of free range chickens from Stanborough Farm.
